Initial Idea 3.0

IDEAS Idea 3 My third idea involves an editing technique I viewed on other music videos. I really enjoyed the effect the feature gave off. As the bass of the song increases so will the lines.

Initial Ideas 2.0

IDEAS Idea 2-  My second idea was to include a time lapse of clouds or a sunset. The majority of music videos I have viewed include a time laps of some sort. By including a time lapse I will be able to show a change over time, keeping all the footage in but simply speeding it up.

IDEAS After watching 3-5 music video of the EDM genre I put together a few screenshots of the different ideas I think are suitable for my genre of music as well as my music video. Idea 1 -  My first idea included adding my name as the start of the song as well as the name of the song. This is a simple but very important feature for me to include in my music video as it allows the audience to recognise the song that is being played and who the artist is.

Hair & Makeup

IDEAS HAIR Throughout the majority of EDM music videos I have viewed, a recurring hair style is loose 'boho' waves. For my music video I too would like to incorporate this style of hair as it will not only express my character in the way I would like but will also fit the stereotypical view of the EDM genre. MAKEUP Though many music Videos of the EDM genre show characters with a full face of makeup. However, for some scenes I would like my actors to have minimal makeup to suit the tone and pace of the song. When the song becomes more intense and fast the makeup looks will also become more visible.

Music Video 3 Research

MEDIA LANGUAGE: Calvin Haris ' I need your love' Analysis Camera  The characters in this music video appear to be holding the camera and recording themselves, having less footage of them being recorded by other people Through out the video there are multiple close up and midshots of the artist as well as their friends  Editing  Sound Mise-en-scene The video suggests the location is outside the UK with a range of establishing shots which is very important as this will set the scene for their audience As well as this characters appear to wear minimal makeup and summer clothes

Music Video 2 Research

MEDIA LANGUAGE: Avicci Analysis Camera  The establishing shot creates an olden time effect as its in the country side. The colour effect that was also added on top of this scene enhances the overall atmosphere of this first shot. The second shot helps to set the scene and tells the audience a little more about the girls and their situation Editing The editing is neither fast nor slow though in multiple clips slow motion is used to create a dramatic effect As well as this filters and colour correction is used to enhance the visuals of the music video Sound The video has some relevance to the lyrics of the song. The first verse and first chorus links strongly to the most to the video Near the end of the video the lyrics are negative which correspond to how the characters feels at that time Mise-en-scene The video places high importance and emphasis on the characters and their costumes as they wear high end clothing brands including Raplh Lauren The w...
